1. Choose a health plan that gives you access to the Sutter Health provider network. Our Tips on Choosing a Health Plan can help you make a decision that considers the special needs of your family. While most health plans provide access to Sutter, please check the list provided in our Health Plans Search.
   
   
2. Select a doctor as your primary care physician. Find out more about our physician family by visiting our physician locator, a searchable database that allows you to review detailed physician profiles. If possible, schedule a get-acquainted appointment with the physician you choose.
   
   
3. Notify your employer or HMO of your choice of medical groups and your primary care physician.
